Sudi McCollum for Bellwether Farms

Sudi McCollum’s illustrations used in the branding and packaging for the Bellwether Farms dairy line have contributed to a highly successful campaign and tremendous growth for the company. Inspired by early American primers for children, the naive charm of Sudi’s illustrations evokes a feeling of simpler days.

Suzanne Beaky’s Children’s Book, ‘Chicken Licken’

Suzanne Beaky’s super animated chicken grabs the attention of those little ones. A prolific published illustrator, Suzanne created this personality plus chicken for the children’s book Chicken Licken, published by Heinemann Publishing.

The book is party of the Shared Reading Books series, which are oversided books that the teacher reads to a group of children. Let us tell you, they are entranced by the story and Suzanne’s fun and often silly art. We want to share a little bit of the book along with Suzanne’s illustration.

Suzanne is represented by Liz Sanders Agency and you can check out more of her work on her rep’s website.

One day Chicken Licken was pecking around for seeds to eat.
Then all of a sudden a big acorn fell on his head.

“What was that?” he asked.
He looked up at the sky.
And then he got very worried.

Local Philanthropy with Amy Ning

Charleston Magazine‘s art director, Camilla Van Eeckhoven, hired Amy Ning to create a visual for inclusion in their November issue. The article’s author, Linda M. Plunkett, a Charleston native, writes about the evolution of local philanthropy. Amy came up with this graphic illustration to express the concept of ‘giving back’ to the community in the article titled “Growing Good“.

Kyle Poling and Amy Ning’s Spooktacular Images

Liz Sanders Agency artists, Amy Ning and Kyle Poling, have been busy scaring up some seriously great illustrations.

Kyle Poling created all kinds of cute Halloween characters for a fun and lively children’s book. Author Ilanit Oliver wrote Ten Flying Brooms for Scholastic Corporation, which Kyle happily illustrated bringing the educational children’s story to life. The counting story is filled with all sorts of rhyming and high-flying bats, witches and broomsticks and is sure to keep kids engaged and learning.

Sudi McCollum’s American Folk Inspired Art

Sudi McCollum has creativity and artistry in her blood. Both of her parents had that creative genius thing, which they kindly passed on to Sudi. After college, Sudi found a successful career in graphic design. She became so sought after for poster commissions from her advertising clients that the rest, they say, is history. She launched a successful career in illustration where she specializes in packaging, publishing and promotional materials, as well as home accessory design.

Sudi has a range of graphic styles, one of which is inspired by American Shaker folk art. This more contemporary take on the Shaker style was created for a catalog company that has an American folk art-style product line. Gorgeous! See more of Sudi’s work here and on her artist representative website, Liz Sanders Agency.

Colleen Madden Illustrates Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas”

Illustrator Colleen Madden recently finished work on a new children’s book, and all indications are that we will be seeing it everywhere very soon. The story, or words actually, are taken from the Mariah Carey song “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” Colleen’s style had the right blend of painterly fun and sweet that Ms. Carey and the publisher, Random House Children’s Books, were looking for. It was a demanding project with a tight deadline, but Colleen pulled it off beautifully. If book sales are anything like the song sales, there is no doubt that the book will be a big hit!

Looks like it’s time for Christmas shopping! Copies will be available starting November 10th.

Colleen is represented by MB Artists. You can see more of Colleen’s work in her Folioplanet portfolio.
